Round 2 action was highlighted by the unfurling of the Division 1 & Division 2 under 18 premiership flags from 2007.The ceremony included President Mark Jackman addressing both of the 2008 U18 sides, reminding them that the young men who achieved Premiership success were not likely ever to all be together again, and to treasure the achievements of 2007 and use them to drive the club forward. Football Geelong representative, Graham Rawlings also spoke to the players and members emhasising the Leagues committment to youth development and strengthening the future of the GFL through a strong U18 competition.
It was a great moment when the flags were unfurled by Anne Cramp- dedicated U18 medical trainer and Dennis Parsons, career team manager that now resides over the senior sides. The U18 flags were as much a celebration of the development of our volunteers as well as our premiership teams- well done all.
