It is with great pride that the club announces that Matt Bolton and Matt Burn have followed their fantastic junior careers to now play their 100th games for St Joseph’s this weekend against Newtown. Their careers to date have been simultaneous with both boys playing in the 2001 GFL U18 P remiership side.
Matt Bolton has gone on to become one of the leagues dynamite forward pockets. Bolts’ career has been punctuated by the odd enforced break, but as all Joeys supporters know, he has always put his body on the line (usually against a bigger opponent) and attacked every tackle, or opponent in possession without fear!
Burna in contrast has usually been down at the other end of the ground looking after the opposition key forwards, and he has had his hands full on occasions! He has defeated some of the big names in footy over the years, and the courage he showed a few years back to get back into senior footy after a terrible jaw break injury was inspiring. Suspension and injury have forced the lads to play their 100th games in the Reserves this week, but all supporters and team mates hope that Bolts & Burna are back in the ones soon!
Congratulations boys!

Well, you all should be use to 'cliff hangers' down at Colac. Only a couple
of years ago, Corey Bauer kicked a goal after the siren to win, and this
year a wayward 60 metre low trajectory stab from Butch Shaw was enough to
get us the point that we needed to win. This was a great result as we rate
Colac as further improved than last year when they beat us on 3 occasions.
Well done lads and congratulations to our first gamers- Peter Street and
Kieran Paliorous, who both played fantastic games. Ben Capra provided a
focal point up forward, and Jackman, Baker, and Shaw benefited from the
dominance of Streety in the ruck. Those at the ground witnessed the
magnificent back six who picked up from where they left 08 and did an
outstanding job, and again Daniel Lovick was the outstanding player on the
day!
