We are very pleased to advise that the Club has appointed Plan Group to construct our new High Performance Centre at the location of the current Scout Hall. Design was completed by Select Architects.
Demolition will take place in May, and we aim to have the Centre complete in August 2023.

Recap
Our leading-edge Centre will be welcoming and cater for all; importantly to include our female players of both sports and all ages, and Club families as well – in one inclusive facility where our players can prepare to be the best they can be.
Specifically:
* a gymnasium for all teams and members in our Joeys community to use
* a new multipurpose room with views of Drew Reserve to provide opportunities for Club and team meetings, high quality coach education and professional development opportunities and minor social functions.

The Centre will be in the Club’s exclusive control – 24/7, 365 days per year, meaning we can utilise and share the facilities as we deem fit under lease conditions. Discussions are underway with St Joseph’s College to access the Centre at off peak times.

Funding
You’ll recall the Centre is only possible due to the amazing Joeys community, having donated a remarkable total of $600,000 to our campaign in 2021, titled One Moment, Our Future, #givethejoeysway.
We would like to take the opportunity to again thank the Bryant and Madden families and the St Joseph’s Old Collegians Association for their significant support for the campaign. Their recognition is situated in the Alan Russell Pavilion.
In recognition of the Birthisel family’s generous support for the campaign, the Centre will be named the ‘St Joseph’s Football Netball Club Birthisel Family High Performance Centre’. Thank you very much Michael, Danni and family.

Cost
As you will know, construction costs have increased significantly in recent times and unfortunately our Centre has been subject to the industry cost increases as well. Final cost of construction is 38% above our original budget. Not once did the Club consider not going ahead. Our Club is committed to delivering the Centre and its long term benefit to the Club and our members.

We undertook several value management reviews of the design to reduce costs without compromising the Centre’s purpose and functionality, and this was successful to some degree. Plan Group and Select Architects both worked collaboratively with the Club through this work.

What will it look like?
We are delighted to attach external architectural renders and the floor plan of the Centre for you to enjoy.

You can still donate!
The ability for members and supporters to donate remains open. All donations are tax deductible.
If you didn’t get a chance at the time of the Campaign, please click on the link below on the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF) website and donate. We are grateful for every gift.
